Privacy policy
Spin the Wheel (“Spin”) is a random picker wheel. It doesn’t sell your data. Its pages show ads from Google and use Google Analytics to count visits (below). This page says what it keeps, where, and for how long.
Last updated 24 October 2026.
Kept in your browser
Most of what you do stays on your device, in your browser’s storage: your wheels and Files (with any pictures you add), your settings and language (while you’re logged in, your default settings are also kept with your account), changes you make to premade wheels, your team lists and the team links you’ve joined, and your embed settings. While you’re logged in, it also keeps a list of the wheels saved to your account. Spin’s servers never receive any of this unless you share, save to an account, or make a team link (below). Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it, and logging out removes your account’s wheels from that browser.
Kept on Spin’s servers
- Share links. When you press Share, the wheel (its title, entries, settings and any pictures) is stored so the link works. Anyone with the link can open it. Links don’t expire.
- Team links. When you share a team list or its results, the list (including the names on it) is stored, and anyone with the link can open it. When you make a join link, its settings are stored. People who join give a name, and a gender if the link asks for one, which are stored with the team they’re placed in. The person who made the link can see everyone who joined; if they made the list public, so can anyone with the link.
- Accounts (optional). If you log in, Spin keeps your email address, your name if Google provides one, when you joined and last logged in, your login sessions, the wheels you save to your account (with their pictures and settings), and your default settings, so they follow you to other devices. A wheel you delete from Files is deleted from your account too.
- Pictures. A picture on a shared or saved wheel is stored once, by its content, and can be used by other wheels and share links, so it stays stored after the wheel it came with is deleted.
Logging in
Logging in is optional; everything else works without it. You can log in with a code sent to your email, or with Google. With Google, Spin asks only for your basic profile: your name, email address and profile picture. It never sees your Google password and can’t read your email, files or anything else in your Google account. Spin keeps your email address and name; Supabase, which checks logins for Spin, keeps its own record of your account (described below).
Cookies
Spin’s own cookies are only the ones it needs to work:
spin_sessionandspin_in: keep you logged in, for 30 days, renewed while you keep using Spin (only if you log in).spin_acct: tells the page which account is logged in, as a short code, so it uses that account’s default settings and no one else’s; it lasts as long as your login.spin_pkce: protects a Google login while it’s in progress, for 10 minutes.
Google’s ad and analytics cookies are described next.
Ads
Spin’s pages show ads served by Google AdSense; wheels embedded on other sites, and this page, don’t. To show and measure ads, Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies, and may use your visits to this and other websites to choose ads for you. How Google uses information from sites that use its services explains more, and you can turn off personalized ads in Google’s Ad Settings or opt out of other vendors’ at aboutads.info.
Analytics
The same pages use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and features are used. It sets cookies (_ga and _ga_*, for up to 2 years) and sends Google what page you’re on, your browser and device, and roughly where you are. You can block it with Google’s opt-out add-on.
They also use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and sends Ahrefs what page you’re on, the page you came from, and your browser, device and country. Its use of this data is described in Ahrefs’ privacy policy.
Payments
If you buy Pro, or have bought it, Stripe takes the payment. You enter your card or other payment method on Stripe’s own pages, so Spin never sees or stores it. Stripe keeps your payment method, billing address, invoices and receipts, uses your address to work out the tax included in the price, and sends payment emails such as receipts and failed-payment notices. Spin gives Stripe your account’s email address (and your name, if your account has one), and keeps, with your account, Stripe’s id for you and your subscription’s plan, status, billing period and renewal or end date, so it knows what your plan includes. Stripe’s own use of this data is described in Stripe’s privacy policy.
Invoices and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, and they keep the name, email address and billing address they were issued with. Deleting your account doesn’t remove them. When an account is deleted, its Stripe customer record is cleared of your name, email address, address and saved payment method, and is no longer linked to Spin; the invoices and payment records stay as they were issued.
Services Spin relies on
- Railway runs Spin’s server, and Cloudflare delivers its pages and keeps its own statistics about the traffic it handles.
- Supabase holds Spin’s database and checks logins: it sends the email codes and keeps a record of each account (its email address and, for Google logins, what Google provides).
- Google, if you choose to log in with Google, and for the ads and analytics (above).
- Ahrefs, for analytics (above).
- Stripe takes payments for Pro (above).
Like any website, these services see your IP address when your browser connects, and may keep it in their own logs. Spin itself uses IP addresses (and, for login codes, email addresses) only briefly, in memory, to limit how often one address can make links, join teams or log in, and doesn’t save them.
Deleting your data
Anything in your browser: clear this site’s data, or use Delete in Files. Your account, saved wheels, share links or team links, or what Stripe keeps about your payments: ask the site’s owner, at privacy@spinthewheel.am.
Changes
If what Spin keeps changes, this page changes with it, and so does the date at the top.
