The periodic table, as a loot drop

Every element from hydrogen to oganesson gets a rarity tier, from Common to Mythic, based on how much of it there is on Earth. Spin to see what you pull.

Six tiers of rarity

Each element’s tier comes from how much of it is in Earth’s crust, oceans and air. The rarer the tier, the thinner its slices, so a Mythic really is a rare pull. The winner’s pop-up shows the tier, the symbol and the atomic number.

TierWhich elementsPer spin
CommonOver about 100 parts per million, like oxygen, silicon and iron (23 elements)30%
Uncommon1 to 100 parts per million, like copper, lead and neodymium (39 elements)43%
Rare0.01 to 1 ppm, like silver, mercury and iodine (12 elements)11%
EpicRarer still but stable, like gold, platinum and osmium (9 elements)6%
LegendaryRadioactive, found only in traces or made in reactors, like radium and plutonium (11 elements)5%
MythicMade only in labs, from americium (95) to oganesson (118) (24 elements)5%

Uncommon comes up most often because it has the most elements, but each Uncommon element is still less likely than each Common one.

Ways to play

  • Chemistry quiz: before the pop-up appears, call out the element’s symbol, atomic number or group.
  • Rarity battle: everyone spins once and the rarest tier wins; on a tie, the higher atomic number wins.
  • Collect them all: keep spinning until you’ve pulled all six tiers. The Results tab keeps track.

Make it your own

In Entries, take elements off or add your own. In Odds & colors, give every element the same chance, or make Mythic pulls rarer still. In Settings, under After a spin, choose Remove it to draw elements without repeats, say one for each student.
